D365 for Operations has a new way to track changes to sales orders without the requirement of having to re-confirm the order after every change or enable database logging. It has long been a sore spot for users in Dynamics AX, that it took enabling extra features to track and audit changes, which sometimes led to performance implications if having to use database logging to achieve. Simple setup parameters now allows this tracking per user, while conveniently putting that data into a simple inquiry to view and report on.
Sales and Marketing now contains an extra setup table called Order events setup. Here, you can specify what changes you want to track for different types of sales transactions, i.e. sales orders, quotes, returns, etc.
It's the easy button we've all been waiting for!
